Employment Contract

This is a contract of employment for the employment of a person on a part-time basis with no specific hours of work. Instead, the employee will be required to work a specific number of hours each week and those hours are to be notified by the employer to the employee from time to time.

This part time employment agreement details matters such as:

• the employee’s job title and the scope of the employee’s duties; as well as the rules and regulations which the employee must comply with;

• the manner in which the employee’s working hours and times for each week will be determined;

• whether the employee will be entitled to overtime pay for any extended hours worked;

• the place where the employee is required to work;

• the remuneration payable to the employee and the manner and frequency in which it’s paid;

• the manner in which deductions will be made from the employee’s remuneration if the employee is late, sick, etc,

• the employee’s entitlement to holidays;

• the procedures that apply in relation to sickness and notification of absence from work; including whether the employee is entitled to receive payment when absent;

• the procedures relating to the change in benefits and the termination of benefits;

• the confidentiality provisions that are imposed on the employee throughout the duration of his or her employment;

• the disciplinary and grievance procedures;

• the manner in which the agreement can be terminated;

• who owns intellectual property rights developed by the employee;

• the employer’s right to search the employee; and

• other relevant matters.

The part time employment contract also includes standard boiler plate clauses such as in relation to confidentiality, non-compete, notice requirements, governing laws, etc.
